A close-up of a tuning peg made of ivory from a veena belonging to the late S. Balachander, one of the most influential veena artists to have ever lived. I used to practice with his grandson (who also plays veena) in the family worship room where all of Balachander’s veenas are still kept. One day I took some pics of these magnificent instruments.
